Do you have a Hashtag Strategy?

by | Jul 11, 2016

When you create a hashtag that is used by others you become connect to them through a hashtag hub.  The smaller the “hub” the more you will stand out.

Use hashtags that your Customer Avatar (your ideal followers) are searching for e.g for some of them are  #workathome #instagram marketing, #instagramexpert.

If your ideal Customer Avatar is into fitness then the hashtags they are using will be related to fitness etc.  Do a little research on what they are using and also take a look at your competitors and see what they are using and which ones seems to be getting more engagement.

You will need to do some testing and measuring to see which get the best results.

There are different schools of thoughts about whether you should you all 30 allowable hashtags or – if you should only use a few.  I think only you can answer this for your specific target market.  Test and Measure and then tweak the results.   I don’t always use all 30 but I also believe that there is nothing wrong with using all 30 as long as they are relevant and used by your target audience.

Put your tags in the secondary comments except your unique hashtag.  In the secondary comment you can refresh them.  Have them in the groups of 6 so you can refresh them, if you refresh them with the same hashtags they won’t be bumped to the top of the hashtag hub.

Have different sets of hashtags for each type of post that you have.  Keep your hashtags in notes or evernote on your phone so you can just copy and paste them onto your post

If you are still stuck on what you hashtags to use check out what your competitors are using.  what tags are they using that are getting engagement not only likes

To your Success!
